CEC’s Board Elects New Officers
Parker, Pa., Oct. 5, 2009 – At its regular September board meeting, Central Electric’s Board of Directors elected James M. Burd of Saxonburg to serve as president. He has been a board member since 2005 and a Central Electric member since 1963. “Our employees and their commitment to providing outstanding service for our members is the cornerstone of Central Electric’s success,” said Burd. “As our region continues to grow and electrical systems technology continues to advance, we will face many new challenges. I look forward to working with our board of directors and staff to meet our members’ current and future needs.”
Margery S. Terwilliger of East Brady was re-elected to serve as vice president. She has been a board member since 2002 and a Central Electric member since 1953. She was also elected to serve as the PREA board member.
Althea M. Smith of Venus was re-elected to serve as secretary/treasurer. She has been a board member since 1995 and has been a Central Electric member since 1979.
Rick Weaver was re-elected to serve as CEC’s Allegheny Electric Cooperative board member, Central Electric’s wholesale power supplier.
Central Electric Cooperative is a Touchstone Energy Cooperative serving approximately 25,000 members with over 3,000 miles of distribution line in portions of Allegheny, Armstrong, Butler, Clarion, Forest, Mercer and Venango counties.
