PARKER, Pa., Feb. 2, 2010 – Central Electric Cooperative (CEC) is excited to announce its third annual Good Neighbor Scholarship program. Grants are available to all members in 2010. Minimum applicant age requirements begin with high school seniors and extend to non-tradional students. Adults wishing to return to the classroom may also apply. Deadline for submission is March 15, 2010. In early May CEC will award 15 scholarships worth $1,000 each. Winners are based on community service, academic accomplishments and financial need.
To be eligible you must:
- Be a CEC member
- Be enrolled in a post-secondary educational institution
- Complete the application
- Compose a one-page essay on your community involvement
- Provide a copy of 2009 federal income tax filing
