PARKER, Pa., July 12, 2010 – Central Electric Cooperative (CEC) continually strives to maintain reliable service at a reasonable rate for its
members. CEC recently completed a project on its Dutch Hill line that will improve service reliability to numerous members in the Perry, Toby and Licking township areas of southern Clarion County (including Central’s headquarters). These sections had a history of outage problems.
This project:
- Replaced copper wire, dating to the 1940s, with modern wire on this 2.6-mile main three–phase feeder line.
- Eliminated two inaccessible sections of feeder line and relocated them to the edge of Doc Walker Road where trucks can more easily access them during storms and emergencies (see attached photo, CEC Dutch Hill Project 1 image – old ROW on left).

- Began in the town of West Monterey and continued north through the town of Dutch Hill.
CEC thanks the area property owners who made the relocation possible by granting new right-of-way easements.
CEC also thanks employees directly involved with completing this project: Jeff Fleming, procuring rights-of-way and overseeing construction; Chris Robinson, staking the job; Tim Fritz, rights-of-way trimming; and Scott Best’s, Kevin Elder’s and Eric Terwilliger’s crews for the rebuild/relocation work on the line.
Central Electric is a Touchstone Energy Cooperative serving approximately 25,000 members with over 3,000 miles of distribution lines in portions of Allegheny, Armstrong, Butler, Clarion, Forest, Mercer and Venango counties.
