PARKER, Pa., Aug. 2, 2010 – All members of Central Electric Cooperative (CEC) are invited to attend the 73rd Annual Meeting on Friday, Aug. 27, 2010 at Whitehall Camp & Conference Center in Emlenton to elect cooperative board members from Armstrong and Butler counties, learn what is happening in the electric industry, and enjoy great entertainment and food.
There is special parking for members with state–issued handicapped parking permits. Other members can take advantage of the golf carts to transport them across the parking lot to the tabernacle.
Registration opens at 4 p.m. Dinner is served from 5 until 7 p.m. and guests must have dinner tickets to receive meals. Members must be registered by 7:30 p.m. to qualify for door prizes. They can visit the marketing tent to learn how to save money on electric bills and become politically involved in energy issues. Vendors from WildBlue Internet service, Dr. Water Heater, U$X, Butler Power Equipment and the Pennsylvania Game Commission, Clarion Electric, ACRE Co-op Owners for Political Action will be present.
Bluegrass band Drymill Road will begin performing at 6 p.m. Members’ children, between the ages of 5 and 10, will enjoy the back–to–school dance and ice cream bar which also begins at 6 p.m. At 7:30 p.m. the Parker VFW Post 7073 opens the business meeting by presenting the colors of the flag, and Heather Check of Saxonburg Memorial Church will sing the national anthem. CEC Board President, Jim Burd will preside over the meeting. CEO & General Manager, Matt Boshaw will report on 2009 events and issues, and financial standings. He will also draw for the winners of 25 door prizes at the conclusion of the evening. Winners of all prizes must be members, and present, to win.
