  • CEC Crews En Route to Aid Restoration

    PARKER, PA, Sept. 8, 2011 – Today two Central Electric Cooperative crews are leaving to assist Sullivan County Rural Electric Cooperative with outages due to severe flooding.
     
    We wish them safe travels and thank them for volunteering.

    Sullivan County Rural Electric Cooperative serves more than 6,000 families and businesses in North Central Pennsylvania.

    Parker-based Central Electric Cooperative, Inc. is a Touchstone Energy Cooperative serving approximately 25,000 members with over 3,000 miles of distribution line in portions of Allegheny, Armstrong, Butler, Clarion, Forest, Mercer and Venango counties.

  • CEC Members Elect Board Members

    PARKER, Pa., Sept. 6, 2011 – Central Electric Cooperative, Inc. (CEC), conducted its 74th Annual Meeting Aug. 27, at the Whitehall Campgrounds near Emlenton.

    This year’s theme was “Looking Out For You.” During this meeting the members re-elected Althea Smith of Venango County and Bette Walters of Forest County to the board of directors.

    More than 1,000 attended the meeting that opened with the Parker Post 7073 presenting the American flag, Stacey Bechtel singing the National Anthem and entertainment by the Burning Daylight band.

    CEC Board President Marge Terwilliger presided over the meeting and CEO and General Manager Matthew Boshaw reported on the highlights of the past year and guest speaker and Pennsylvania Rural Electric Association President and CEO Frank Betley talked about consumer choice.

    The meeting concluded with awarding door prizes including two large-screen televisions.

    Central Electric is a Touchstone Energy Cooperative serving approximately 25,000 members with over 3,000 miles of distribution line in portions of Allegheny, Armstrong, Butler, Clarion, Forest, Mercer and Venango counties. Central Electric directors are elected for four-year terms by the membership of the cooperative.

  • CEC Crews Return Home

    PARKER, PA, Sept. 6, 2011 – Yesterday four, two-man Central Electric Cooperative crews returned home after assisting with hurricane restoration.  

    The crews helped restore power to Sussex Rural Electric Cooperative members, (all 12,500 meters) in New Jersey; and MedEd customers in Redding, Pa. 
    We would like to thank the linemen for volunteering.
