Good Neighbor Scholarship Fund
Central Electric Cooperative’s Good Neighbor Scholarship program awards scholarships to high school seniors and non-traditional students residing on cooperative lines.
Applicants must be enrolled in a post-secondary educational institution, complete our application, and write a one-page essay on how they have contributed to being a good neighbor in their community.
This program does not cost our members anything. Funding is available as a result of efforts from both the cooperative and area legislators in securing unclaimed cooperative capital credits that previously were sent back to the Pennsylvania state treasury. Now these funds stay in our local neighborhoods. It’s the cooperative way of helping neighbors.
Eligible Applicants
- High school seniors whose parents or guardians are members (including seasonal accounts) are eligible.
- Also, any member considering post-secondary education may apply.
- Family members are defined as husband, wife, son, daughter, stepchildren, foster children, and grandchildren for whom the member has legal guardianship.
Note: Only one scholarship awarded per household for the life of the program.
