Good Neighbor Scholarship

Employees giving safety education to students

Central Electric Cooperative (CEC) is proud to offer its Good Neighbor Scholarship program. Applicants must be able to communicate how they contributed non-paid time to help their community, school and church. The program awards scholarships to CEC members or to their children.

Applicants must be enrolled in a post-secondary educational institution, complete our application, provide a letter of reference and write a one-page essay on how they have contributed to being a good neighbor in their community.
Employees and directors of CEC, along with members of their immediate families, are ineligible.


Application Guidelines
Applicant must receive electric service from CEC and their account must be in good standing. This is a one-time award per individual.
Applicants must provide the following to qualify:
  • A completed Good Neighbor Scholarship application.
  • A copy of an acceptance letter from a post-secondary educational institution.
  • A letter of recommendation from a high school, employer or organization.
  • A one-page typed essay describing activities accomplished by applicant highlighting their commitment to the community, school and church.

The deadline for applications and supporting documents is March 15.
