Become a Hero Today by Donating to Family Fund

Monday | November 1, 2021

Central Electric Cooperative (CEC) serves seven counties in western Pennsylvania. All of whom are experiencing a slow economic recovery from COVID-19 – leaving many members fallen on hard times and unable to pay their electric bills.

CEC offers different ways you can help, and 100 percent of all donations (regardless of the donation method) are used by CEC to lend a helping hand to members in crisis.

The first donation method is by donating directly (either one-time or monthly) to CEC’s Family Fund – a fund members-in-need can apply for to receive assistance with paying their bill.

The second is by participating in CEC’s Round-Up Program – which also benefits CEC’s Family Fund. CEC’s Round-Up Program gives you the chance to help someone in your area by rounding-up your CEC electric bill to the nearest dollar amount. Members who participate in this program donate an average of $6 a year – which may not seem like much but will mean everything to a neighbor who needs your help.

Now – more than ever – it is important for all of us to come together and help those in need.

To sign up or for more information about CEC’s Family Fund or Round-Up Programs, please call 800-521-0570 or click here. Members who use SmartHub -- CEC's online account management program -- can sign up for the Round-Up Program within their online account under Billing & Payments then Round-Up.

A selfless act – done in a moment to help someone else – makes a hero out of an otherwise ordinary person.

With your help, we can make sure future generations can work, raise families, and enjoy a quality of life that strengthens local communities.

CEC utilizes local, social service agencies to verify qualifications and distribute energy assistance to qualified members.
