CEC Makes Significant Progress in Power Restoration

Monday | March 16, 2026

On Sunday, March 15, a second storm system producing winds of up to 50 mph entered CEC’s service territory.

At the peak of the storm, approximately 3,300 members were without electricity. These outages were caused by power supply issues, downed trees, and multiple broken poles.

CEC crews, supported by several additional crews, worked safely and diligently through the night and made significant progress. Currently, approximately 20 members remain without power.

Restoration efforts are ongoing, and full restoration is expected today, Monday, March 16. Individual restoration times may vary depending on the extent of damage identified when crews arrive on site.

Six members impacted by the first storm system—which resulted in approximately 13,000 outages—also remain without power. Restoration for these members is expected later today.

CEC thanks all members for their continued patience and understanding as restoration efforts continue. As information becomes available, CEC will provide updates at www.central.coop.
