National Electrical Safety Month
Did you know that May is National Electrical Safety Month? The purpose of this campaign, which was put into place by the Electrical Safety Foundation International (ESFI), is to reduce the number of electrical fires, fatalities, injuries, and property loss. While electrical safety should be a daily practice, this month is a time to raise awareness of its importance in our homes, workplaces, and communities.
At Central Electric Cooperative, safety remains our top priority as we deliver reliable electricity to our members. That same commitment extends beyond the workplace, helping to protect our homes and families every day. This month, take some time to reflect on what you do or what you should do to be safe around electricity. Be proactive and check your house for any electrical hazards, such as overloaded circuits, damaged wiring, or outdated electrical panels. CEC wants us all to have the knowledge and resources to learn about, inspect, and prevent electrical hazards.
