Update: New Storms Move Through Service Area

Sunday | July 5, 2026

PARKER, Pa., July 5, 2026 - Central Electric Cooperative (CEC) continues to restore power this evening as new storms and flash flooding move through the service territory creating additional outages and challenges.

As of 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 5, approximately 900 CEC members are without electricity. Outages remaining from Friday and Saturday were down to approximately 250 meters prior to a storm moving into the area Sunday evening.

Multiple severe storms over the last three days have made outage restoration efforts difficult during a holiday weekend already burdened with extreme heat.

As crews continue to remove hazards and restore electricity we remind everyone to assume all downed lines are energized and dangerous, and to stay no less than 30 ft away. Never remove trees and debris from power lines and avoid flooded areas, especially near power lines.

CEC thanks its members and the community for their continued patience and understanding as restoration efforts continue.

Central Electric Cooperative, Inc. is a Touchstone Energy Cooperative serving approximately 25,000 members with over 3,000 miles of distribution line in portions of Allegheny, Armstrong, Butler, Clarion, Forest, Mercer and Venango counties.
