Update: Sunday Outage Restoration Efforts

Sunday | July 5, 2026

PARKER, Pa., July 5, 2026 - Central Electric Cooperative (CEC) continues to restore power for members after a severe Friday evening storm passed through the area causing widespread outages and damage to our system.

As of 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, July 5, approximately 890 CEC members remain without electricity after the Friday storm, followed by additional storms throughout the weekend.

Currently, just over half of the total outages are located in Butler County, with Clarion and Venango counties experiencing the next highest counts.

CEC crews, a Valley Rural Electric Cooperative crew, and many contractors will continue to safely and efficiently make progress throughout the day in our service territory.

Another round of storms is expected later today, including heavy rain as well as other hazardous conditions. This will impact restoration efforts and has the potential to cause additional outages.

As crews continue to remove hazards and restore electricity we remind everyone to assume all downed lines are energized and dangerous, and to stay no less than 30 ft away, and to never remove trees and debris from power lines.

CEC thanks its members and the community for their continued patience and understanding as restoration efforts continue.

Central Electric Cooperative, Inc. is a Touchstone Energy Cooperative serving approximately 25,000 members with over 3,000 miles of distribution line in portions of Allegheny, Armstrong, Butler, Clarion, Forest, Mercer and Venango counties.
